Learn to Play Craps - Tips and Strategies - Craps Pros and Their Winning Systems

Be smart, play smart, and learn how to play craps the right way!

In my other article,Winning Systems, I address the fact that there’s no such thing as a long-term craps “winning system” for the player. It’s a mathematical fact that a player cannot gain an advantage over the house using any combination of bets or bet amounts. Period. Yet I see book after book and article after article explaining a wide variety of systems that so-called “craps pros” use to consistently beat the house. It irritates me knowing that the gambling world recognizes some of these authors as craps “experts.” It irritates me when I read something from a well-respected so-called craps expert who, in reality, spreads false hope instead of fact. It irritates me knowing the Industry acknowledges and flaunts these people as skilled and knowledgeable players. It irritates me knowing the player who visits a State lottery for a week and wins $200 AND has a blog to brag about his craps “achievement.” It irritates me knowing there’s such a hen in the game laying down false hope.

It should. The game is designed for the player to lose, and the casino wins. It’s unfortunate, however, that players continue to blindly follow some types of betting systems based on dictates from without direct evidence. My goal in writing this article is to give players looking for true craps advice a little more hope along the way. Here’s the bottom line: Players lose more than they can possibly win. The only way to get ahead is to bet more.

The House Edge

The fact is that all games in the casino have a built-in edge for the house. Some are more than others, but most games carry a built-in advantage for the house. The edge is what the casino has decided should benefit the casino and the gamblers. The disadvantage is that the players do not face the advantage. When you hear the house mentioned, you must understand that you are being told something about the odds that the house holds versus the players.

Craps presents an interesting case because the player can advance the edge, learn how to play craps, and even have the edge over the house. In fact, you can, with a little bit of knowledge and willing to work, turn the edge into your favor. In a game like craps, players can place the bet known as “Togel88.” With this bet, players can get even odds on any number coming out, plus a little bit more. Players can even win on two, three, four, five, six, eight, nine, and ten. This is why Let it Ride is a great bet.

Craps is a little bit of a misnomer, because it is really not all that complicated. Once you understand the rules, though, you can begin to work out various strategies. The strategies are not discussed in great detail in most books. Most books simply offer a short explanation of the rules, and avoid the more advanced techniques. You can find excellent books that will teach you the more advanced techniques, but avoid the yet complex books until you are more advanced.

If you ask the average person about craps, they will give you a long list of myths. These include such nonsense as craps is rigged, the dice are stacked, the dice are different sizes, and so on. All of these are fallacies. The dice are not different sizes, the dice are regulated during the throwing of each chip. To say that the dice are different sizes is another example of a myth. It’s amazing how many players believe this! Some players even insist that the dice can be different sizes when they aren’t! There are even people who believe the exact opposite (that the dice are lighter in some way when hitting the back wall). This simply isn’t true, and if it was true, the casinos would be out of business, as they are very careful not to have the dice tampered with.

There are many myths about craps, all of which are easily proven wrong. Take the suggestion that the dice are different sizes. First, there are no such Dice size files, and if there were, they would be very expensive. Second, if they were, the casinos would lighter them up and sell them for a higher price. Finally, the say that the dice are flush, but the dice do not carry the same weight, that is a myth as well.

If you can recognize and rebuff other players’ bets, and be able to easily pick up the dice after throwing them, then you should stand out as a potentially good craps player. In fact, if you can do any of the following you may actually be better than most.
